Synopsis

Hogan and his men try to rescue a underground leader on route to Berlin to be executed.

Story Notes

• This is the one hundred and fifty-eighth produced episode of the series, but is the one hundred and fifty-fifth to be shown on television, and is also the eleventh episode shown for the Sixth Season.
• This is the last episodic appearance for both Arlene Martel and her character Tiger.
• Tiger's real name is Marie Louise (or perhaps Marie-Louise) Monet.
• This is the last episodic appearance for both Walter Janowitz and his character Oscar Schnitzer.
• This is one of the few times that Hogan violates his orders from London (not to rescue Tiger).
• Newkirk has never heard of the Lone Ranger or Tonto.
• Hogan presents antifreeze stolen from Klink's own staff car to him as homemade hootch brewed by the prisoners.
• This is the first time that we see the prisoners stage a major fight as a diversion. One was planned, but never carried out, in "The Informer."
• Tiger was captured in Cologne. She is to be sent to Berlin by train, via Dusseldorf and Hammelburg.

Timeline Notes and Speculations

• This episode appears to take place in the fall of 1944. This is keyed to both Tiger's last appearance ("Heil Klink," beginning of 1944) and the varying fortunes of the underground over the course of the year.
• Since the last time we saw her, Tiger has chosen to return to Europe at the risk of her own life, as she is high on the Most Wanted list of the SS. She almost single-handedly reorganized the German underground movements in both Hammelburg and Dusseldorf, following their respective Gestapo crackdowns, and less than a month ago she saved Hogan's life. It was probably at that time that they put an end to their former romance, as it is noticeably (and sadly) absent in this episode.
