Lieutenant Baumann is a fictional character who appeared in the Hogan's Heroes episode, Funny Thing Happened on the Way to London. He was played by Lloyd Bochner.

Lieutenant Baumann is a ruthless and cunning agent of the Gestapo, and evidently a skilled assassin. When the Germans capture Group Captain Roberts of the RAF, they quickly learn that he is close to Winston Churchill and plan to use that knowledge in a plot to assassinate the British Prime Minister. After taking pictures of Roberts and then recording his voice, they make Baumann into his double.

They bring the false Roberts to Stalag 13 where the real Roberts has also been brought, to see if Colonel Hogan (who is a close friend of Roberts) can tell that Baumann is a fake. Hogan, however, has already learned about the assassination plot and decides to play along for the time being. He then has Baumann switched with Roberts so that Roberts can escape and Baumann would be unable to kill Churchill.

Baumann tries to kill Hogan for thwarting the plot, but the wily American is able to evade the attempt.

Nothing is known of Baumann's fate afterwards.
