Hauptmann Walther Kurtz is a fictional character who appeared in the Hogan's Heroes episode, Everyone Has a Brother-in-Law. He was played by Cliff Norton.

Hauptmann Walther Kurtz is an officer of the Wehrmacht, as well as a brother of Berta Burkhalter, and thus the brother-in-law of General der Infantrie Albert Burkhalter. At one point in the war, he is assigned to active duty at the Russian Front, but his sister, possibly at his instigation, uses her influence over her husband to secure Walther a position at Stalag 13 as Klink's adjutant. Once installed, he precedes to show what a tough officer he is, starting with punishing Hogan and the other POWs over LeBeau's unshaven appearance during his first inspection of the camp, and staging surprise roll calls at night. However, he tries to worm his way into Hogan's trust, privately claiming his harshness is just a ruse to keep up appearances, and that he really wishes to get out of Germany, which he claims is losing the war. In actuality, he only wishes to gain Hogan's confidence in order to trick him into exposing his operation, in the hope of impressing his superiors. Hogan outfoxes him by tricking him into setting off an explosion destroying an ammunitions supply train, and then abducting him. After fooling Klink and Burkhalter into believing that Kurtz was lost in the explosion, Hogan has him spirited off to England to sit out the rest of the war in a P.O.W. camp.

It is unknown what happens to Kurtz after the war, although Hogan has promised him a punch in the nose when they next meet.
